About Anecdotage Media (and its founder)

"Anecdotage" is word that had little meaning to me until I had started having moments of unsurety about the quality of my vocabulary.  It was in an googled article of about forty "uncommon" words to add to your lexicon.

It's an amalgamation of two words;
  • anecdote (a short amusing or interesting story about a real incident or person)
  • dotage (a state or period of old age, especially when accompanied by mental decline).

So an "anecdotage" is a person, often advanced in age, who regales stories of their past and is prone to tell numerous tales without provocation.

And for the first time in my life, after celebrating 20 years of marriage, having three children and always feeling like the youngest person in the room, I am finally starting to feel old.

Anecdotage Media is the professional side of an ever-expanding hobby, podcasting.  I've been podcasting just shy of five years, which lines up with when numerous people took up the hobby, during the 2020-2021 COVID pandemic.

Podcasting led to networking with other creators and then stepping out into organizing events with the SE Michigan Vintage Computer Club.

Generally, one of these "about" pages serves as a primer to dazzle visitors with the founder's many achievements...  I'm not that guy though...  I'm a three-time college dropout that has 20 years of experience in supply chain, inventory, quality and logistics with a passion to serve your needs in professional voice-over and marketing.

Anecdotage Media will serve as a vessel with the following purposes:

  • To offer professional voice-over and marketing services.
  • To offer professional tech and audio/video gear reviews without bias, from a consumer's perspective.
  • To house my retro computing and gaming podcasts and streams efforts.
  • To explore and expand my own content outside of vintage computing and retro.  Exploring topics such as woodworking, crafting, DIY, music, faith and current events.

As for me personally...  I'm a believer in Jesus, the husband of Courtney, the father of Elijah, Caitlynne and Isaac (with our Lord), the host of the Commodore Chronicles, Fine and Tandy, 486 Deluxe, NES Advantage and Morning Cartoon Crunch podcasts.  I also stream on Twitch as "commodore_chronicles" and am the founder/organizer of the SE Michigan Vintage Computer Club.

And by the grace of God, I can faithfully and passionately serve you and your company, hopefully making Anecdotage Media a full-time career.  Because who in this crazy world doesn't want to be their own boss?

Regardless, I look forward to connecting with you!

Sincerely,

Adam Dorough
